Navigation notices, stoppages, restrictions and maritime notices may originate from organisations including the Canal & River Trust, ABP Humber and other authorities responsible for the relevant waterway.
TBANav may normalise and organise these notices so that information relevant to a particular journey can be presented together.
Vessel restrictions may include dimensions, draft, air draft, operational limitations or temporary restrictions published by the authority responsible for the relevant navigation.
The applicable official information should always be checked before undertaking a passage.
TBANav navigation assessments are produced by The Boating Association using available source information together with TBANav's navigation assessment rules.
These assessments are distinct from the underlying data supplied by external providers.
TBANav is a navigation decision-support platform. Information may be delayed, interrupted, incomplete or changed by the originating provider without notice.
TBANav assessments do not replace official navigation notices, restrictions, warnings, charts, local knowledge or the judgement of the skipper or person responsible for navigation.
